The holidays are here! Wow, what a year this has been. I seems like the older I get the faster the year goes by. I think it is part of my part time mind working. I don't know what next year will bring, hopefully good things to our family. Our holidays are always really busy, going from different houses to get the kids gifts and back to work. This year will be a little different since I don't have to return back to work as quick. I have a new job that comes with a few different benefits. One of witch is having the week off between Christmas and New Years. I had the opportunity to apply for a new job back in June of this year. I am a Union Electrician, I am also an instructor for our Apprenticeship Program, at the time I was just a part time instructor. They were talking about taking two instructors on full time and I decided to apply. In June I found out that I got one of the positions. Now I was going to find out if it was the right decision or not. I had a pretty secure position as a Foreman for the company I have been with for about 5 years. It was a pretty big decision for us to make. Not knowing what my job as an electrician was to bring in the next couple of months. I decided to take the position as a full time instructor. As of right now I have made a good decision to take the job. I have a decent person as a director, and a good guy as the other instructor. Just those two things are enough for me to think I have made a good decision. The other thing that makes me think I have made a good decision is the fact I still have a job, if I did not leave the job I had, I would have more than likely been laid off by now. That is part of being a construction worker. Now I also have a job I am not driving an hour and a half one way. As I did for about four years or so. Now I have a thirty minute dive to work and a thirty minute drive home. I also have a job I can be home more, coach sports, and be more of a dad "husband" to the people that see me every day. I also have the week off between Christmas and New Years to spend with my family. So as of now I can say i have made another good decision on my next step of my carrier. I just hope that the next year brings us as much good news as this one did. I don't think this holiday will be as busy as the ones in the past.

I couldn't ask for a better more caring son than you. Well I guess I could ask, but I wouldn't get one because they don't come any better than you. Remember when I would punish you when you were little and you would ask me how I could be so mean to you? I remember my answer was, "Because I am trying to raise two descent human beings here!"
